Dragon_mech's Guide To Spending 200$

<div class="IPBDescription">on video games & such</div> <b><span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>Step 1: Get 200$</b></span>

The best ways to do this are theft and robbery, but you can always luck into it. My boss forgot to add that 50 cents an hour to my paycheck for the last 3 months, so when I walked in today, he handed me a 200$ check to make up the difference. Whatever works.

<b><span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>Step 2: Spend 200$ on whatever videogame stuff you want</b></span>

My purchases in the last few hours:

DOOM Collectors Edition (DOOM, DOOM II, Final DOOM & DOOM 3 preview)
Armed & Dangerous
Sacrifice (Damn this game is good)
Oni (How the hell have I <i>not</i> played this before? WTH is wrong with me?)
Summoner
Giants: Citizen Kabuto
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Arx Fatalis
ShadowBane
Heavy Gear II
Ghost Recon
Pool Of Radiance
Descent I
Descent II
Descent III
Saitek ST90 Collapsing Joystick

Now all I need is to get a computer and I'm set for life... =P <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I hope the nostalgia is strong in you... because even when I have fond memories of games like descent, I go back and try to play them, and even if I can get them to run on my current machine, I just can't stay interested in the dated engines <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Best things on that list:

    $200

    Oni

    Summoner

3 great things. The rest is generally okay.

Enjoi Armed and Dangerous + KOTOR. Although did you really need to buy all of those? You could probably spread it out a bit.

id say all that is well worth the $200 hes got hundreds of hours of entertainment waiting for him beats paying $6.50 for a 2 hour movie <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I just finished a very difficult semester in college. I now have two weeks entirely to myself. I get bored easily... =P

Plus, the computers I have access to can't run many of the games, so I will be required to wait on all of the newer ones (Summoner, Sacrifice, KOTOR, etc.)

Not really. At least Oni didn't have 4 3 hour long bore-fests between story to make filler.

I could have given you my copy for free.

And then I would have burned you at the stake for considering this game in the first place.

    Dont forget XCOM:UFO Defence!
Very nice isometric turn based strategy game with tons of replay value. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--> (Incindiary weapons are effective against some opponents and weak against others, plasma weapons mostly pwn everything, laser weapons have unlimited shots, etc etc.)

However, dont buy any other XCOM game. Terror from the Deep has several issues, and is mostly just a re-make of UFO except underwater. Apoc doesn't really feel "completed", and enforcer/interceptor are jokes/frustrating/buggy.

    personally I loved apoc.

I wish I had 200$ to spend right now =( I did a few weeks ago... but then Doom 3 and other expenses came around.

The next game I'm going to purchase will be for sure Half-Life 2, got it reserved @ Gamestop.

and yes. Sacrifice is a sweet game, along with GR.. wow i love GR too.

I'd say Descent 1 - 3 are the greatest things on that last (maybe next to Doom) but that's because I am an old school-ite and Descent 1 and 2 and the first games I ever delve into big time.
