Geekplayer / SKplayer also doesn't work anymore. As well as anything that used the hl.exe I guess.

Its a 3rd Party Program. Honestly, what should they care? And either way, steams browser for me always worked better than HLSW. Now if your a server admin, I could understand, but then you already have the IP, so you don't really need "browser" anyway.

HLSW allows you to enter the server with rcon_password etc set by default. And you can enter an IP directly and hit "connect" instead of using Steam's favorite system.
And, about SKPlayer, I'm curious to see if you'll say "come on it's useless, you can always copy the demo in your rep, launch HL, open the console, type playdemo.... same amount of time!".

I hate Steams M$ politics, it's not like they are suposed to care about 3rd party software, but they don't care about the users! It is not like only a couple of people are using 3rd party game browsers, there are alot of them and steam don't give a ****. Why? We are still Steam customers, we all use steam. Now they really could care more what we want, what we like to keep using. They kill the software, and it's not even competition, we have to use steam even if we browse servers with other software.

GG this really is deep.

Since this question applies to the whole of Steam and not only NS, I suggest you visit their forums for all your answers.
