Why does it keep telling me to install custom game

That keeps happening to me too.  i don't know what's up with that.  If i start another mod like DoD and then switch to NS from there in Custom Game, then it runs fine.

Try starting from the start menu icon instead of the desktop icon. I had the same problem and doing this solved it.

No, reinstalling probably won't work, since the bug is in the installer. It messes with the desktop shortcut somehow. You need to start NS through the start menu. That'll work.

Just delete your desktop icon, then copy the icon from the start menu in it's place.

The problem is that the desktop icon is missing "Start in : X:\SIERRA\Half-Life" Or at least that's the only difference I can see.
