<div class="IPBDescription">the hardware gods conspire against me.</div>Okay, so I bought a brand new motherboard in hopes that it would fix the damn errors I was having with this stupid stupid STUPID 6800GT.

and it doesn't. In fact, its actually WORSE than it was with the god damn older motherboard.

So Monday I'll be ripping the **** out of this piece of **** and putting everything back the way it was, and returning both 6800GT's.

And before you freaking ati fanboys even start, you can't freaking buy the ati x800 cards. So shut up. I'll buy one when they are available.

So yeah, I'm a little angry right now. $1000 worth of worthless hardware charged to my credit card, I think you'd all be a little **** off.

    Well, while ATi is better, it is pretty stupid that the X800s aren't available, and their not really better for someone like you DOOM, of which DOOM 3 will be the God of your existence. Good luck with whatever you get- maybe once they do come out, a X800 with the top quality AMD 64 chip?

    Doomeh! You could always go to a computer store around your area when they get their shipment and they will most likely have a new card. The Frys Electronics around here gets their shipments on Friday and when I went to see what vid cards they had on Monday, all the X800 and Geforce 6800's were sold out, but they did have them they just sold out really fast.

    Also, I wouldn't go cheap when buying between Geforce cards, the cheaper ones tend to break alot but the expensive ones work like a beauty and they will last you years(I don't mean cheap as in the GT vs the 6800 Ultra, I mean cheap as in the company who makes them)

    Uh...I'm sure if you take some time to cool down and go at this thing fresh you'll find something you overlooked. Nvidia cards aren't selling because they don't work/aren't good. I'm not a fan of either one however.

    Nah :p I have a Geforce FX 5900 right now but I'm not biased against ati. If they had something affordable that was worth buying I'd buy it...same for nvidia because the differences are negligible for the most part.

    Like I said before, the 9800 pro PWNs that card, for 179$. Honestly, geforce hasn't released a card superior to the 9800 series until the 6800's came out, and ATM they cost ALOT more.

    Installed new motherboard, problem is actually *WORSE* than on the old one.

    /me grumbles

    So right now I think it may either be my sound card or my netgear wireless card. Hopefully it will be one of the two so I can at least make some sense of this bs situation...

    Can you be a little more specific on what the problem is? We don't want you replacing your entire comuter over somthing that might be a relitively unusual but easy fix DOOMeh

    Found the problem.

    God damn wireless nic.

    Disabling it causes everything to run silky smooth.
    Enabling it causes stutters and horrible cries from children.

    Wired connection works fine too.

    Well at least I know what it is and can return $600 worth of merchandise now...

    It was indeed the NIC, and as stupid as it sounds, upgrading the drivers from 1.0.0.0 to 1.0.0.7 fixed the problem! Wooo!

    Now all I gotta do is take this new mobo out and put my old one in and reinstall windows again and then tommorrow go to the store and get $900 credited back to my credit card before the bill comes!
