<div class="IPBDescription">How to use it to your advantage.</div> I know this isnt fair to all the low ping'd players but i've found if i alt tab when i respawn (this is sometimes) i lose my animations, most of the time just knife and pistol. When you shoot with your pistol no bullets are visible and the weapon looks as if it not being fired. Also on the player's screen no bullet marks appear on walls. Although if you fire at an alien they die and the attacks still work. This makes anyone that has bad aiming with a pistol... deadly. So now my question which one of you low ping'd players would call this exploiting with the 56k <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    mo muzle flash, no chaning animations.

    basicaly, it is sorta easier to see exactly where your X Hairs are (and thus exactly where the bullets will hit)

    it realy dosn't matter.

    my muzzleflash doesnt get in my way at all. especially since the muzzleflash appears way above where its spose to be. hasnt anyone else noticed that it appears way up to the right instead of the positition of the barrel where you fire it? its completely out of my way.

    i get this very often with adsl and a ping above 200, way more anoying than an exploit.

    This used to happen a lot in the older versions of NS. Its really annoying, but easily fixable. Just drop your gun and pick it up again and everything should work again (only knife is unfixable).     I've had this happening in old versions, i kinda kill worse with it because i can't hear my shots.

    It doesnt play a reload animation either...sometimes you think that you didnt reload, even though you did. by that time you already have a full clip though

    because in the animation the pistol muzzle goes upwards due to the recoil, most likely.

    yeha it happens to me too even if I am on a 512 KBS line... It makes me aim usually a LOT worse.

    It also stops the sounds and animations from playing, so I can't hear my shots, see my gun fire, or hear it clicking when I'm out of ammo. And then I can't tell when I'm done reloading cause there was no reloading animation playing... I know I can look at the ammo counter on the screen, but I would rather be paying attention to the alien about to kill me cause I can't tell my gun's status just by looking/listening at it/to it.

    Yeah, i listen to my bullets aswell to see how many i've got left, and i can do it pretty well. i can often change at 2-4 bullets to my pistol, without even glancing at the counter.
    Seems like this should be in the bug forums to me though?

    They already know about it, but they cant figure out what causes it.

    Whenever that happens to me i feel like my aim improves tbh...

    yea i know what causes it, the shoot animation in the pistol has the first frame set up in the recoiled position, so thats where the muzzleflash is, to fix it they would just have to add another frame before it in the normal position and itd be fine. same thing if they speed up the shotgun and add that frame in the normal position then it would look much much better.

    It makes me aim worse when it pops up because I'm not expecting it. If I had this effect reliably and got used to it it would be a significant advantage not having to deal muzzle flash and screen shaking.

    I get this every first round i play in combat, i get normal guns back when i respawn. pity it doesn't happen in NS
