<div class="IPBDescription">A phase strat for kharaa</div> I was playing on a pub and heard someone mention something that caught my interest. One of my fellow team members told us not to kill the phase gate (it had one more hit till it was gone) for some strange reason this pub has some discipline to it (amazingly) and no one attacked it until that player said over the mic kill the phase when the big guns come through, and sure enuf within about 10 seconds several hmg'd marines came through the phase, we killed the phase and the marines had just lost themsleves a lot of res, although this did work on a pub, i doubt it'll work in a war, as most clans arent that stupid. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    This is exceptionally risky. For several reasons.

    1) If HMG/GL HA come rolling out of that phase, you're dead. Unless you have several onos stomping overtime and the marines are dumb enough not to jump the stomp.

    2) If you're ON the phase, its a telefrag, and thats not pleasant either.

    3) If JPs come rolling out of the PG then you're really up the creek, especially since 2-3 skilled JPs can dice anything you throw at them.


    Consider that while the PG is up

    - you will have to defend it or at least observe it.
    - you will have to be NEAR it to counter the rush
    - rines can do anything else they like because you MUST guard that phase.


    IMHO you'd probably get more of an advantage by dicing the phase and counter rushing MS in order to set up a strong front line on their doorstep.

    Yes.

    Phase camping is nice if the marines are below par. Otherwise, get it down.

    Reminds me of a time when all my marines were dead, I beaconed, recycled the armory, told them to phase through, they all did, and died again.

    I beaconed again, and this time, we had killed enough aliens to establish yet another beachhead.

    But uh....there are times when it didn't work out so well.

    Any decent commander medspams the phasegate before his marines phasethrough when this happens.
