<div class="IPBDescription">what do you do to make it signifigant?</div> this is my first job, and comming up is my first birthday at said new job... my first birthday where i have something OTHER than celebrate to do.

what do you do at/take to work to make it a fun day?

    My job they give you the days off and 8 hours of pay, unless you want to work then you earn time and a half. All. Day.

    Lets do a wee bit of maths here.

    Let x = amount of work done.
    Let y = amount of money paid.

    Case one, you go to work and get paid 1.5 times your rate:

    Money/Work ratio = x / y < INF

    Case two, you don't go to work and earn your normal rate:

    Money/Work ratio = x / 0 = INF

    INFINITE MONIES WOO.

    I must admit, the first birthday I spent “working” was a bit depressing. People (if they are aware it’s your birthday) are typically nice – my co-workers take “birthday people” out for lunch on their day. But besides the lunch or handful of people telling you happy birthday, it’s another work day as usual.

    Getting old and living a “real life” sucks!

    by yourself a lot of flowers, have them sent to you at different times during the day and then ask people what they got you. eventually you will get a lot of pity gifts, or youll find out everyone there hates you.
