- I exited to the menu and it crashed... Now my moniter is all messed up... It's really bright, and a lot of colors are screwed... I have changed every setting I could think of to try to fix it

NS doesn't support software rendering afaik. I had the same problem with the NSTR2, the env_gamma messed with my gamma settings and left me with a very bright screen after "playing". If you have a prgram that lets you adjust your gamma (check your advanced display settings) just turn it down, i found that just booting the NSTR2 to the "title screen" and then just exitting it, resetted the gamma values again. I don't know if this last one works with NS version 1, but it worked for me with the NSTR2. My gamma settings aren't messed up by version 1 though, so it really is a software rendering related problem, i'd say switch to another video mode if you can (openGL works best), and if you can't, try and hang on till flay gets the software rendering working properly.

In my Start Menu NS group there's a "Reset Gamma" batch file.  I used it, and it works.  Should be in everyone's folder, too.

It worked fine for me in software mode, other then that one crash... And it seems to have some trouble every time I exit to the menu. Oh, and I restarted my computer and it's fine now.
