animenfo.com SAYS:
nope, not licenced in the US yet.
though I do not have it yet.
there is a site dedicated to unlicenced anime Torrents, though I don't remember the name atm (note, this is NOT wares talk, as unlicenced anime is actualy fair game. And those of us who folow the rules will stop downloading as soon as it is licenced)
And as far as legality goes, its illegal one way or another, its just that publishers kinda turn their head the other way towards unliscensed series. So don't get the bright idea of posting any urls nubs, as they will be nuked.

hehe, yes, 1st gig was licenced a while ago (infact it was licenced almost before the fansubers finished it )
and as for unlicenced, it is technicaly a grey area of the law, however in the face of the companies, they don't seem to care.
hehe, just realized It is probably my fault this thread will end up locked, sory mate (stops posting bout this in hopes some one re-rails the thread)

Actually, a lot of domestic companies leave us (fansubbers) alone because we encourage our downloaders to purchase the domestic releases. We also stop work and distribution once a series is licensed.
... most of us do, anyway.
There have also been instances of unscrupulous domestic companies ripping off our sub scripts and using them for their own releases to save time and money. AnimEigo has been guilty of this, as I recall.
Maybe I should randomly work in F4 somewhere the next time I work on something...

Evangelion TV, Rurouni Kenshin TV, Bakuen Campus Guardress (a re-release), Countdown OAV, and a few other things that I don't remember. This was back in the day when we were working off of stuff taped from Japanese TV and Laserdisc, using two VCRs and something called an Amiga. A few years ago I quit fansubbing for various reasons - now I work primarily on translating manga and PC games, though I do check srts for a group called Anime-Legion.
