==No sound.
Earlier today I decided it would be a good idea to install some new sound drivers, so I could get 1337 sound in my headphones.
So I went to turtle-beach.com and found some new drivers for my Santa Cruz card. However, I failed to notice the tiny text at the top of their driver download page, saying that only retail card users should use these drivers. Otherwise you should use the standard ones.
So I installed, and as it happened, the readme2K/XP.txt , which I found in the Santa Cruz folder later on, didn't pop up after the install. Because of this, I didn't know that I was supposed to reboot, and then run the setup program again to complete the installation. Obviously the sound wasn't working, so I figured that it wasn't a big deal and attempted to install the old drivers from the backup folder.
But now I find that whenever I try to bring up the TBSCDS menu and install the drivers from there, the small window hangs up right after clicking on the Install drivers button[EDIT: This might have nothing to do with all this]. So I go to delete the old drivers, and do so(not uninstall, rollereyes. didn't even think for one second that it might be under the add/remove program menu) by deleting them. Doesn't help.

And basically I reinstall, uninstalling first and just letting it overwrite, using safe mode and not, messing around in regedit and deleting any mention of santa cruz or turtle beach, and all kinds of shizzle. Nothing works. So I have some nonfunctional drivers for my sound, and, whats weirder...

...the Device Manager(or whatever it is in English), does not show any of the hardware on the computer. I have no idea why. Regedit might have done it I suppose, but I seriously doubt it.

So does anyone have any advice? Any additional information that you want?

    By the way, as well as installing from the backup, I had also attempted reinstalling from the CD. No go.
