Preaching Resources

<div class="IPBDescription">**Oh Teh Freeze...ness</div> Ok, after filling my computer up with useless junk i decided to do a reinstall of windows to clean it all out. Of course this meant reinstalling steam and NS, but i didn't think it would matter seeing as i've done it 3-4 times before.

So, i downloaded all the right files from the downloads page, and began to install Half-Life, and play it once beacuse that's what it says to do in the installation guide.

But whilst i was connecting to a HL server, it froze just after downloading the security module at "Preaching Resources", i haven't tampered with any HL files, or anything that should harm HL in anyway.
But still, i tryed a few more things to see if i could get it to work.
I downloaded CS from the My Games list on steam to see if i could run that ok, but with no success, it too, froze and strangely enough it froze in exacly the same place. This is wierd beacuse i've never had a problem like this before and i've installed Natural-Selection quite a few times before and i am quite familiar with it.

If anyone else has any ideas/questions about what happened please post here, as i really want to get NS working.

P.S i'm asuming that none of the HL mods work, but i'm not exacly going to download them all to check, but i think i can safely say <u>NO</u> HL mods will work with my steam, they will all crash at the same point on the loading screen.


P.S Missed one thing out, i tryed making a listen server aswell, to see if that would solve anything, but it didn't. This time it just crashed on a different point, it didn't even pass acually setting the server up, i forget exacly where it got to but i remember it was only 2 or 3 yellow bars.

Same thing is happening with my NS server. It stop on PR for everyone.

Try using fs_lazy_precache 1 (need to enter it into your userconfig.cfg or similar)

well... scince people dont know that have posted, i can only give you my guess. that has only happened to me on custom maps on other games, but only custom maps, and only on other games... try reinstalling your maps... or maybe its a problem with your listenserver.cfg.

You need to finish downloading the hl files. Open your Steam monitor and check it.

There are no files that need to be downloaded. When I set the server up, everyone could play on it. Then when I edited something on the server (any file)..it does that.
