Yea, I upgraded to Win XP Pro...
Anyhoo, I started up Doom 3 (It worked fine yesterday) and it flipped the screen upside down... So I quit out of it and the desktop retruned to an uprite position.

But... It was 640x480 256 colors and it wouldn't let me change it. I rebooted hoping it would fix the problem, it didn't so I ran system restore. It went smoothly, up untell it robooted in which case I was presented with a BSOD.

So I booted up in safe mode and ran restore to an earlier point (earliest available...) and stll, BSOD.

I didn't feel like fixing the problem, so I'm installing from scratch. Hooray.

    A format is always good. I haven't formatted in a long time - when i get my new, inhereted computer, I'm going to chuck all my hdd's in and format them.. Well except for one hdd which im going to keep in this computer and run as a linux server, blah blah you know the deal <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    There was a whole bunch of other things because I didn't back up my XP home registry before I upgraded, so a clean install was needed anyway. Now I just have to re-install lilo so I can get back into Mandrake and I'm set.

    One Linux Ext 2, one Linux Swap, one Fat 32 and my windows partition.

    Good luck with the format! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> Remember to try and at least archive all your stuff properly on the fresh install.. so your harddrives don't get cluttered. Hehe.

    Woah, you're right. The forums are slow today. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    By the way, how do you find dual booting? I'd have thought it would be fairly redundant - having to reboot to do stuff, only being able to do half the stuff, half the time?

    It's allrite. Generally, I only use windows when I want to play games and Linux for toying around, also for working and whatnot.
