Doom3 Faq

Meh.
Well, I thought since Doom3 has been released recently, that some people might have a few questions they'd like to ask that havent been answered in other threads. And if no one has any questions.. then this thread will die down. I'll update this main post with an FAQ so people can read the answers to their questions if they've already been asked in this first post, instead of cycling through the topic.
So.. my first question is.. I heard that there is no "use" key in Doom3, how do you interact with your enviroment then?

Well, a thank-you for answering would be nice.

When you first walk out of the train and go into the next room and fight the zsecs and commandos (one zsec on the catwalk above) go down the steps and get the pda from the body to the right in the corner. Should be right below the room with the password stuff.
I got a question myself actually...
*SPOILERS*
when it comes time to transmit that signal before you get into the monorail, you get to make a choice between canceling or transmiting and not heeding the warning of that bald guy. I'm wondering, does choosing one of them over the other actually change the rest of the game in any way?
*NO MORE SPOILERS*
In the part with the scientist down in the chamber(he asks you to unlock it), who else immediatly looked for the activate button, and pressed it?
*/possible spoiler*
What happens if you press the activate button?
**SPOILER****SPOILER****SPOILER****SPOILER****SPOILER****SPOILER**
The room he goes into after you let him out probably doesn't open and then you don't get the passkey to whatever it was was on the PDA in there... I forget what it was, was it the Plasma Cell storage?? I don't think so....

Well if you press it, the giant machine lowers down onto him and you hear this sucking sound. The when it goes backup all you see is his skeleton standing over a pile of goo, then the skeleton falls over. Then two zombie guys with guns come in the door behind you. Guess it's ID's way of punishing you for squashing him.
Yeah and if you do it you won't be able to get into that room and get the weapons/PDA.

edit:spelling
EDIT: ALSO, there are no buttons (that I've seen yet, at least). Anything that would normally be a big red button is now a big red GUI button on a computer screen.
Well, its not objects it lowers the weapon for- only people, and GUI interfaces. Otherwise, you get to swing the weapon around all you like.
If you press the activation button the machina comes down and does a combination of squishing and churning, and when it goes back up a bloody skeliton is standing where the scientist was before. Then 2 grunts jump out at you that normally don't, and you can't get into the room the scientist camps out in later.

type map doom3/mapnamehere("hell1")

Try typing in map in console, see if it gives you the parameters

Just..one..last..question (I'm almost clear on this there is just a bit of fog at the end of the tunnel..)
What do you do *after* your weapon is lowered, how do you control interaction, per say..?
(oo... new smiley!)

That would be the best bet. Anyway, all of the panels are touch screen so you just click on what you want it to do. Most of the time it's easy, there has been one point though...(spoilers, highlight)...I've gotten into the manual satellite control room and put in the card but I decided to cancel the distress signal, did I just screw myself over?
So yeah, D3 could be a decent game, I just haven't been far enough to see that.
