<div class="IPBDescription">And binds</div> Does anyone know of a program, or anyway that I could be able to bind actions to key combinations/keys? Like shutting down your computer with Windows button+F12.

I'm nearly sure you can do this within windows XP anyway without external programs if i had XP installed I would prolly be able to tell you how to but I'm stuck on ME atm :/ Give it a few minutes and someone will reply with the answer.

You can run programs with key combinations easily enough. I have calculator, notepad, command prompt, all the little useful things bound to various ctrl+alt+ key combinations. Just go into the properties of the .exe to set it.

As for shutting down with a key combination, I'm not so sure about that. I'll see if I can find a way to work it.

There is a console command for shutting down the computer. People, for whatever reason, use it in a quick-shutdown batch file on their desktops, and with that info, look it up. Assign that batch file to a shortcut.

Why does anyone need a bind for shutting down the computer? Is it that hard to do three mouse-clicks?

Or five key presses, if you don't want to use the mouse.

    Try one:
    On/Off button.

    I win.

This is generally not a recommended way to shut down.

Plus it's easier to use the mouse.

Actually, if you use a modern ATX power supply & motherboard, pressing the power button will actually call the shutdown code in windows and will shut your computer off in exactly the same way as if you used the start menu to shut down. Just don't hold it in for 5 seconds. :P
