ever got siege when hive 2 was up? well the fades go throguh mariens easily and the onos just destorys everything else and everyone is like " ATTACK THE PG NOW"

why not save the pg for last? i mean its a fountain of res. after destroying everything around it, just wait for the marine to pop up and there u go, 2 res!!

just let the little aliens get more res and they can become a better alien!

    Your point makes sense, but you have to take into account the danger of letting Marines shoot you. Normaly, when a PG goes up, you're screwed and people don't like losing hives, so you get rid of the root of the problem.

    It's a fountain of res if only LA Marines are coming through it, preferrably with LMGs. Otherwise, as stated, it isn't worth the risk.

    What I really like is when the PG is totally being overruned and the comm decides to be a **** and beacon while telling everyone to phase.     Not only does alien get 20 res, the marine team loose pretty much res.

    what is most annoying when u r a marine is...when u just phased in and the comm suddenly decides the pg is getting overrun by kharaa...so he/she recycles the pg so u r stuck there having to deal with the worst forms of kharaa torture.

    Getting rid of the PG first stops the threat. Against rines with a comm that know what they're doing, that phase is nothing more than a quick way to get back to kicking your A.

    my favorite is when the alien team camps the pg, then the comm beacons and gets everyone to phase thru, and then he recycles the ips and drops himself tons of meds and guns out side the cc, then he plays the six flags commercial song and then when the aliens are coming he f4s and sprays goatse allover the walls of the rr

    It depends on how badly you've killed them the first time. If you just barely inched them out through one lucky skulk, a phase will really hurt. Or if the comm researches HGs and tells his marines to prime it before phasing.

    Unless you're playing against compelte and utter nubs, the phasegate should always go down first except during a seige, in which an argument of what goes down first can go both ways.

    Although its a bug, several marines can phase through at the same time. And you won't be able to kill them all unless you have large life-form backup. Add in the medpacks, random knockback here and there and you'll regret you didn't take that phase down when your hive goes down instead.

    Leaving a PG alive can allow a mass rush on the hive again. Depending on what lifeforms you have, but if your all skulks this can be very dangerous, oh no...the6 marines that pushed thru killed 4-7 of your attackers and they're slowly respawning as marines are just popping out like rabbits. Also usually there is a TF with sentrys around shooting you also. More bullets = bad for kharaa sponges.

    Yep. Phase gates SUCKED for marines big time when aliens could use them back in 1.04 (that's why they were rarely used in clan games. But then, teching to JP was all the rage back then) and invade the marine outpots using the PGs.

    OH sweet 1.04 it was so hilarious to be an oni taking pg down the by mistake going into it and phase to ms! few seconds of panic while you go back to where-ever and hearing ms rines say lolo/WTH/:P

    If you don't kill the PG asap, they will get time to build a TF/turrets/siege cannons, which will make removing the marines of that location even harder.

    It's ussually a bit of a risk, i personally say keep the damned thing up if u have four or more skulks surroundin bit and the rines dont have heavies yet. Otherwise, two or three skulks really cant camp a phase gate all that well....
