well I just thought maybe NS would appeal to both genders more and it'd become more popular, I mean even if you had 100% of guys playing NS in the world, thats still only less then 50% of the population,
so I was just wondering if there was any appeal to girls in NS , I mean I think there would be

I vote that this thread be stickied so that whenever I feel depressed I can read it and suddenly my life will seem so much better! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Don't see what difference it makes if you're losing to guys or girls tbh - i know lots of girls who are way better than me at loads of stuff both on computers and off them (it may come as a surprise to some of you trolls out there, but yes - there is life outside of a computer <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) doesn't bother me in anyway to lose to someone whose more skilled at something than I am.

Jane basicaly got it: Most girls don't let people know they are female for the simple fact that it is an instant: 1) OMG GRILZ TEHSUXZORZ AT GAMERS!!! 2) HAHA U GOTZ KILDZ BYZ A GIRLLZ 3) Nice shoes, .....
As for why forlorn has never seen a good girl gamer? b/c most of the good ones don't let it be known that they are female. A few do (I have played with some, back in 1.0 one of the best people I played with was female). This is the same reason why you rarely see GOOD 12 year olds with anoying voices. They know they will get dicriminated against b/c of their voice, every so often it turns up that some one realy good is actualy like 12 years old (isn't it JediYoshi who is/was?), yet is still very competent.
On the other hand, camslut1243462456212432352346 also exists inthe gaming world. There are females out there who like the type of attention they get from making it known that they are female, and playing games.
And if any one starts on why females are bad b/c of that, just remember there are pleanty of guys that would do that if they could.
Funny thing to note is that they're all really into teamwork and stuff, the ones i 'know' seem to go gorge and build other stuff and get resource towers as marine etc...They're also decent players, but nothing special.
Yes, and they're all having hot secks with other women who are all super models as they play <!--emo&::tsa::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tsa.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tsa.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I used to have a girl in my clan, then they all went to 3.0 before i did <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Locking's too good for this thread, I'd wipe it from history.

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Actually, Athena is a dude who acts like a girl. On his website, he says it in an essay or two - here (read the last sentence if you dont want to read it all)
Yeah, so what happens when you assume? <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Obviously, you didn't 'read it all' either.
I am not a 'dude who acts like a girl,' nor have I ever noted myself as such. Though I guess if you *did* read the essay - and you choose to disregard what I say in it, that's your choice. If you're shallow enough that all you care about is what's between the legs, then by all means - I'm a 'dude,' Dude. Unless all you care about is if you're going to land me in the sack or not - why does it matter if I prefer to be considered one way or another?
I was born with a hormonal discrepancy - I do have male sex organs, but I produce 'abnormal' amounts of both estrogen and testosterone, though I'm on medication for it. As far as sociological and psychological identification, I'm female. I've had heterosexual boyfriends, like I said - and no complaints from them, so I guess I'm woman enough that it doesn't matter what kind of plumbing I've got.
I won't go into how incredibly rude it is to talk about someone, especially someone who frequents these forums, as if they were not here. Not to mention coming to false conclusions and spreading rumors. That's insulting, quite frankly, and is not tolerated here.
Avenger, you may have had totally innocent intentions when starting the thread, and I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, however never underestimate the capability of people to blow it out of context, proportion, or off topic.
What constitutes "many" female players is debatable. As mentioned before, some female players are hesitant to even make their gender known simply because of the reactions of many of the so called "men" in the community. Needless to say, however, there are at least a half dozen female players of NS that also frequent the board or IRC, and likely many more. I won't have anyone disrespecting any members of this community, regardless of their gender, race, religion, and so forth. Starting a topic on the matter in specific is just ASKING for trouble down the road, so lets stop this before it gets any further.</span>
