<div class="IPBDescription">How to get down</div> How do I get my CPU/case temp down?

I have 1 case fan that came with the case, and 1 other fan that I rigged up with electrical tape (from old dell). I have a spot for 1 more fan. What can I do to get m CPU/case temp down? right now its at 79F and I think thats not horrible, but definately not good. My comp runs fine. Any suggestions?

    Get a better heatsink/fan for the CPU and make sure that you apply thermal grease. Make sure that you've got proper ventilation in the case, too.

    Did all of the above. CPU temp is at 103F <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Ventilation is good too.

    Make sure your case isn't a rat's nest. If there's wires and stuff all over, it will ruin the airflow through your case.

    And you aren't really running all that hot. The lower the temperature the faster things will run, but you shouldn't get damage or errors until quite a bit higher than that.

    My athlon XP with stock cooling runs very hot. 75 celcius gaming, recently I overclocked it to near 3000+ speeds. I put a large room circulating fan next to the open case. Even with overclocking it never hits 68 or more gaming. Buhaha.

    OK, thanks guys. I plan on doing some overclocking, and I have an idea of how to do it (in the BIOS) but I'm not completely sure what to look for. Any help with this while we're on computer talk?

    If you are one of those hapless souls who actually use intel, forget overclocking.

    However if you are on an AMD post your mobo and cpu specs here

    So I guess that translates into "HAHA INTEL, OVERCLOCKED? BWAHAHAHAHAHA THATS FUNNY"?

    You could always get a hole saw and attach a fan or 2 to your side panel. I have a couple 40mm fans pulling heat away from my expansion slots. Makes it easier to overclock my GPU <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    DUDE, 79F is friggen awsome! Thats if this converter is right 26.111C. God I wish I could have that with my rig. I run at 49C tops which is at 115-120F. Thats with 2 front 2 back 1 side fan. With also a Volcano 11+. Should be happy with such a low temapture. I also have AC running in the room!

    Only way you'll get it lower is by using water cooling. Either that or go to the Arctics and really experience low temps on your pc XD
