Creative Soundcard (help!)

<div class="IPBDescription">Its acting up again...</div> I've got a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, DR release 1.84.40 on my system, every update, but something has acted up. It is stuck on the 5.1 surround sound setting, so my headphones arent working properly! Can someone please help me set this thing stright? It was working before, but not now, all help is appreciated!!

    Does it normally not work for you on 5.1? I have a 4.1 speaker setup, and I have no problems hearing through my headphones. You're trying to change the settings through the Creative Sound Mixer, right?

    No, I change it using the speaker settings.. and no need to worry anymore. I tried to fix it myself, and in my infinate computer genius I totally screwed up my sound and now cant hear anything, my drivers are not installed properly, and it wont update. I need to reformat anyways, thing is my computer wont reformat for some reason. I repartition the harddrive, but it still has all the info (and viruses) on it. Oh well..

    get the drivercleaner app, and reinstall drivers.
