How is that tragic? The only part that was sad was the end because it was playing the Mad World song.

Donnie Darko would be classified as kick ****.

it depends on how you interpreted that last scene. there are about two or three different ways you can go about viewing that last part:

1.) irony. this is how i saw it, and it didn't make me want to cry at all.
2.) sacrifice (last-supper style). unless you've read one of the fan sites or have read the "Philosophy of Time Travel" on the official website, and you're clever enough to put it all together, it's almost impossible to come to this conclusion. i guess this can be pretty tragic.

green mile? how was green mile tragic? as far as i can remember, it was just your typical mighty ducks ripoff.

my contribution: [ ****, everyone's beat me to it ]
    titanic

animatrix: the last renaissance 2 - not so much tragic as just frigging gory. like the part when the guy gets RIPPED OUT of the mech he was piloting. jesus f-ing christ i had nightmares about that.

Hmm. You must be thinking of something else. The Green Mile is the film with Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan about the life of an innocent man on death row. I'd have to say it's probably the most "tragic" film I've seen. The word suits it well.

After that, I'd throw in another vote for Requiem for a Dream. Most depressing thing I've ever seen, and definitely tragic. It's a brutally honest film about addiction by the director of Pi.

Now that you've reminded me of The Green Mile, I would have to say Monster's Ball is also a tear-jerker.

    hhhmmm. tragic movies..

    "American Beauty" was pretty tragic.

"Das Boot" OMG Everything was for nothing in the end. And the captain who tried so hard to save his men suceeds only to go home and watch everyone die there.

    Oh cruel fate of war.

"Lorenzo's Oil". It's a diabilities movie, but involving a boy. But the true conflict's with his parents and the hell they go through. This movie was able to hold a rowdy 9th grade Health class speechless. Try that for measure.

"The Killer". Ever feel that whatever you do, you can't solve everything, even when you take the most drastic of measures and sacrifices? Considered John Woo's masterpiece.
