Parsing Game Info Lockup

Installed to steam. Gets to parsing game info when i join an internet game. All other mods work fine (cs dod) but the same thing happens on halflife deathmatch. I hear ingame action and when I push esc I can see it. I can even spray my logo if near a wall but cant actally play. Any help anyone? thanks.

    open the games window

    rclick on half-life and make sure it is set to always update

    now open the moniter and see if HL is updating.

    remember, you are downloading a couple moths worth of patches.
