Metal. True, Headcrushing Metal.

I need reccomendations.
In my eternal search for headcrushing metal of all kinds, I've found nothing to satisfy me. This is where you come in. I need someone to reccomend some REALLY hard metal bands. Pantera is about all I've found that's even close. 99% of all death metal is just weak. It's boring and stupid.

hmm maybe if you're lucky your cd shop (where you actually buy the cds) has someone who remotely knows anything about music. Try it?

Heh...no. The only CD shops I can find consist of classic rock and pop. The closes to "metal" they get is Linkin Park and Slipknot.

(Thus I buy CD from The End Records, of course.)

    lets see... really hard metal..

    Malevolent Creation
    Sacrificium

Slayer is too high pitched....they're just a wall of noise. I guess I should have elaborated...in that it has to be music as well as extremely headcrushing.

I'll check out the other stuff though.

Well, Slayer does have a few good songs, Raining Blood comes to mind. I really lik eall kinds of metal, but alot is just high pitched and weak. One reason I like Pantera is songs like Rise and Mouth For War. I haven't really found the style of death metal I'm looking for. I guess I want too much.

The song Beyond The Ice by Blind Guardian = win.

Yeah, I've listened to most of BG's albums. They're not exactly heavy and hard. Good band though.

Personally, I love Dimmu Borgir. They're great, you should try 'em out. Songs I like: Progenies of the Great Apocalypse, Vredesbyrd, Eradiction Instincts Defined, IndoctriNation, etc.

Also, maybe you'll like Finntroll (they're Swedish, so I dunno). Try the song Grottans Barn by them, it's pretty cool.

    Have fun

I think Finntroll is a bit too happy if he wants hard songs

    heh heh.

I have alot of stuff to check out. But I'm almost positive I'll find at least one new-found band I like, even if it isn't what I'm looking for.

Meshuggah, the finest of swedish metal.

Try the song Stengah, Future Breed Machine or The Exquisite Machinery Of Torture to name a few.

Or maybe Opeth, another great swedish metal band.
They mix harder and lighter metal, try for example Moonlapse Vertigo, that song sums up Opeth pretty nicely.

[EDIT] Oh, I just have to recommend the song Closed Eye Visuals by Meshuggah also. [/EDIT]

I've heard "I" and they sound really talented. That song/album really covers the whole range of death metal.

I would try System of a Down if you haven't already. They have some really good stuff that you can headbang well too. I am a fan of their Toxicity CD cuz it has so much good headbanging songs on it. (Sure they don't scream at the top of their lungs at all possible times but they make up for it in music ability)
