<div class="IPBDescription">I need *major* help.</div> I've got a major problem. My computer resets to a page that has tons of pr0n all over it, and keeps adding disgusting things in my favorites folder every random time I do something on the internet. Things like.. stuff you'd never do with your dog. Yeah. I need it gone, and now. But, I've got a few ideas where it comes from.

I, myself, dont serf pr0n ever just for this example here. Thats the very -last- thing I want on my computer especially when the rest of my family uses it from time to time. My cousin, however, who visited here a couple days ago, is like CWAG on steriods and little teenage boy hormones, like the pr0n master. My dad drove him back and told me some of the things he has in his room, eh.. eheh.. and I -did- discover things on my computer after I left, like when I opened up my windows media player history.

Can someone please help me out here? I downloaded the things cleaner but everyone knows those work only by a slim chance.

EDIT:: Dont let other people use your computer that you cant trust to leave alone!!!! <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

EDIT2:: I'm running Ad-Aware right now. Its picking up some things, I'm not sure if that will remove it.

Did you do a virus scan/spyware scan?

Try <a href='http://www.lavasoftusa.com' target='_blank'>http://www.lavasoftusa.com</a> and get Ad-Aware, it's a great tool for removing spyware. As for anti-virus, get AVG Anti-virus (google it). Hopefully it solves your problem.

If Ad-Aware doesn't work, try "Spybot - Search & Destroy". If that doesn't work either try HijacKThis, and see what's in your startup.

Or you could just not use IE, and get Firefox instead?

I'm just glad they're idiots because they can deny and you can use it as evidence XD
The main reason why I let my computer become password protected in 1 min really <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

In any case, scan for virii, and spyware (ALWAYS use Spybot and Ad-aware in conjunction with each other....)

My brother had this problem when he was surfing the same things XD
Spybot and Ad-aware nuked them both in place. It should work for you <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

The thing to remember is that nothing is all encompassing, and you're probably going to want to go with combinations of software. Ad-Aware and Spybot is the most popular and that's what I use. In the future, just password your account <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

And remember, if this doesn't work, there's only one thing left to do...

    format c:

Hell I'm passwording it now. HijackThis found some items that had to do with realsearcher, and I deleted those (but not the other ones.. went through every single one to get all the baddies!)

Thanks for everyones help, and continue posting if you have anything else that might help others with this problem in the future!!! (as well as me if the bugger is still in there. Sonofa..)

    And remember:

I dont know how. Seriously. Got my pop to do it for me before. It said we couldnt repartitian, so he just shut the thing off when it was in the middle of making new files, and it changed its mind. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> So I finally had a clean computer.

You know....you could've used this topic instead XD

    <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25354' target='_blank'>http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...showtopic=25354</a>

Still applies to Spyware like RealSearcher. Not really a popup, but a browser hijacker. Would really be classified as malware TBH <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

You might want to try <a href='http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html' target='_blank'>SpywareBlaster</a> and the Immunizer in Spybot S&D to prevent spyware from installing, as well.

Something like this happened to me a few months ago, and all I could do to fix it was to format c and reinstall windows. Thank god I keep all my important stuff on other drives...

Did you delete all the BHOs with HijackThis? Did you check if anything unwanted is starting with windows?

If you can't figure it out I suggest after you reinstall windows, to never use Internet Explorer again. You can remove access to it by going to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Set Program Access and Defaults > Custom.

Dunno if this will help you, but this is what I get when I run HijackThis:

Well, I'm going to go to bed now. Good luck with your problem.

start bar -> run, then type msconfig
Uncheck the box that says 'Load start up items'

    Click OK and restart

Run Spyware/virus removers see what they say.

Run IE and options tools > internet options, empty your cache file
    Visit www.mozilla.org and download firefox

    Browse the web secure and safe <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

PS. if you need stuff loading up at boot, when you type msconfig click on the startup tab and disable all then start enabling only the ones you know yu want.
