Why were bots removed?

Why were bots removed?  I'm not complaining but I never saw any news about them being removed.  The last time I saw the FAQ (long time ago) it said that bots would be included.  In the NS folder I do see that there are files for the HPB bot but there is no .dll in the dlls folder.  There is a text file for the bots but nothing to make them work.  I'm rather confused about this.  Could any one tell me why this is?

    There was never any planned bot support for NS.  To code a bot for NS would take a hell of a lot more than waypoints.  Too difficult for too little gain.
