Here's what I get, though I do have the 4.9 Beta OpenGL DLL in the Doom3 Directory.

Edit: Picture without mysterious hand clipping

Don't remember having any problems with doom 3 on cat 4.9, though it didn't like my really old gl driver I use for half-life( 3.6, the glass shader was fuxed up ).

Doom 3 runs really nice for me with the 4.8 Omega's. I haven't tried it with the 4.9's yet, as those drivers suck for ns.

LOL.

you can sort of mix drivers by getting the 4.9's for instance and open them in winrar/zip and extract the atioglxx.dl_ from one of the sub folders. And then open CMD from the start-> run and navigate to the folder where you placed the file. Use expand on it(e.g. expand atioglxx.dl_ atioglxx.dll) and it will be fully unpacked. To use this GL driver for a game you can usually place it in the main game folder as most games look there before they look in system32. You can replace the atioglxx.dll in the system32 folder if you want different D3D and openGL drivers as the default drivers.

Do you have that pk4 file that adds self-shadowing to all the in-game models?

edit: did you install doom 3 on a computer with an NV card and then install an ATi card? It's entirely possible that doom some funny settings in it's config for NV cards and that you are still using the same config. Try renaming the config so that doom 3 will recreate it.

(If you still have problems.

There have been some problems caused by the uninstaller not removing all files and registry entries, usually when changing from one card to another(not nescesarilly from one firm to another). I'd try getting a cleaner for the NV drivers and one for the ATi ones and then re-install the drivers.

example)

That shotgun looks...semi-fullbright....

Nonetheless, something to do with your Doom 3 settings or customization. Most like self-shadowing or some misconfigured command.

Beats me though, my Doom 3 r teh b0rked.

Okay try this.

Go download DRIVERCLEANER,
read the readme and do all the steps in it.(Do it for both ATI and NVIDIA) Then reinstall your ATI Drivers.

Should work.

looks like a shadowing problem to me? can you even turn off shadows?

I agree with Soylent. There was a problem with a certain version of NV drivers that caused exactly what you are experiencing. There are still probably some drivers left on your system that are conflicting. I have a 9800 Pro and I dont have that problem. I'd try that Driver Cleaner program, or just do a full reformat/reinstall of Windows, thats sure to fix it
