<div class="IPBDescription">Costume in progress</div> I did a thread about a "fade in the park" before, asking about copyright permission and thinking about if its even realisable without looking to ugly or misplaced to
<b><span style='font-size:17pt;line-height:100%'>walk around as Fade at Halloween in an amusement park</span></b>.
Now im sure its realisable, not too misplaced/ugly and the costume is in progress.
The mayor problems with a Fade costume for Halloween are still:
- Halloween in germany is only celebrated in (american) amusement parks and sometimes as private party just to have a theme, its no big thing in germany, 80% of all ppl here dont care about haloween.
- Fades in amusement parks at halloween, no hive ~100 zombies and undead, >1000 visitors. Nobody will know NS there, im just "one kind of alien monster" for all of them.
- "Blinking" and slaying in real life in the dark for 6 hours without getting exhausted, costume must be warm, weather resistant but as light as possible.
- The price of the costume, wages are low, its just for fun.
- The quality of the costume, dont want to look like a 12 year old turtle. it also sould look like biologic "green-red"-infestation and not like jeans.
- The Fades horse legs, do humanoid-biped fades look ugly?
- The Fades long head, how to build, how to keep from falling over.
- The Fades back "pipe" including acidrocket.
- The Fades teeth, spikes and legs.
What happened since last halloween:
- Opened <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51210&hl=fade+in+the+park' target='_blank'>thread</a>, thinking about a fade in the park.
- Got flayras permission to make me a fade costume and getting payed for walking around as fade, basically.
- collected some "usefull waste" for a fade costume for about some months; coat-hangers, styrofoam, old carpets, plastic lamps and thin iron bars .
- nailed old shoes on short thick wooden planks and tried to walk with "fade legs". Could only stand for 1 second, not walk without risking big pain and broken legs. Need to solve the "fade legs" problem later.
- changed the fade model into a human biped and a shorter head with 3dsmax to test how ugly (or how much worse) it looks.
- srearching cheap masks to buy, <a href='http://www.deathstudios.com/alien_puppet.htm' target='_blank'>this one</a> came really close, others were less expensive. Decided not to buy any of them and try to make my own out of an old helmet, some iron wires, old furs and a lot of duct tape.
- playing around with "unfold tenkai" a program that unfolds 3d models to printable skinmeshes to make real models out of paper: This did not help the costume but helps skinmeshing models.
- Signed a contract to work as a "<a href='http://www.df5jz.de/Ollj/halloween_2003b.jpg' target='_blank'>Halloween Character</a>" (that was me last year) in "<a href='http://www.movieworld.de/movieworld/parkinfo/acces/index_de.cfm' target='_blank'>Warner Brothers Movie World,</a> <a href='http://www.meinestadt.de/x/map.php/x=11/y=51' target='_blank'>Germany</a>" every Friday, Saturday and the whole last week of Oktober 2004.
- Bought some basic black oversized clothes and some stuff to start working with.
- Sawed old platic lamps into Fade-sheds.
- Bend the thin iron bars into a fade head, temporarily hold together with duct tape. The head is 1:1 (like ingame) a little stretchy and maybe a little too big. I have not thought that it would be that easy to make such a long stable head and not to heavy to wear. Later I will be able to look trough the open mouth, the eyes and the sides of the mask. Its being hold only by my mouth, head and neck.
- coat hangers make great arm claws, styrofoam makes good theeth.
- The biggest problem will be the legs and feed, they need to look like Fade-feed, need to be weather resistant and able to run with them like a Fade for a long time (same for the head).
Ill post some photos of the fade costume in progress for the next days.

The costume will be made out of 50% polyester and 50% "Waste" and im gonna swim in FILM blood.
ps ollj u r weird
like have the fade legs as they are normally and have your leg slightly outside the costume behind it (the fade is practically all black, surely a camouflaged leg wont be too noticable or out of place :S doesnt a fade keep its legs tucked together when it blinks? (i forget :S)
WALKERFADE FTW!
Although I expect that means you have no problems with copyrights etc. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
You ought to get someone you know to be in a marine costume. Then you could chase him over the neighbourhood
I'm sure someone's bound to do it with the marine weapons.
In the real world, we call them <i>photographs</i>. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
If you can find me some screenshots of real life... I will personally travel to your door and deliver a cookie.
Fades are about 8 feet tall after all, so this could account for some of that height. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Thought about aproximating fade legs a lot, its basically the biggest problem.
I think I will just walk on my toetips with big "fade feeds" connected to them and attatch some big styrofoam muscles to my lower leg to make my feet into a 3rd leg bone.

not much to see, the head is slightly hanging down (only one wire in the back holding it all for now), its the "texture" and accesuires that make it good.
The head is longer than an arm.

Quoted for emphasis
why not make it larger? it would eliminate the need to adapt it to your body shape. sinply make the costume to sit atop your shoulders, or to attach to your waste. if you were wearing all black clothing you would be harder to see. the claws could be moved by sticks, painted black and held in your hands. the fade leg's could be attached to your own, so when you walk, as does the fade. also, this would mean you dont have to walk around with a mask on all day. below is a very crude image of something like what i mean. if you dont understand what i mean ill try and dig up a better example later.
