KOTOR
Max AF
Max AA
Max graphics
1024x768x32@85hz
FPS: Constant 85
Halo
No AF
No AA
Max graphics
Same resolution as KOTOR
20-85fps. 85 when doing anything. The second I pull the trigger and hold it down the framerates lower to 20 slowly, as I run out of ammo. Stop firing, FPS goes back to 85.
Counter-Strike Source
Max graphics
No AF
No AA
Same resolution as above
60-70fps stress test at stock settings
20-40fps online
70-120 FPS When hosting the server.
Athlon XP 2700+
512 PC2700
MSI Radeon 9800 @ XT speeds
WinXP pro SP2
DX9.0c
All drivers and such updated.
I just don't understand how select games run fantastic maxed out (C&C Generals) yet simpler games like Halo gives me that weird behavior. Anyone that can help I appreciate it.

Ever thought that could be the problem?
Anyway I reset the speeds to stock on the Radeon, same "issue"
Could be, go buy a 500watt now ! 350 watt with an AGP 8x card, what are you thinking CWAG??
Can't you cancel it for a couple of dollars or something? I've cancelled stuff with Amazon before.
Yes.
I scored a bit lower (5200 IIRC) because I have a Pro (128MB) and my motherboard sees my processor as a 1800+ "OC'ed" to 2400+ (by FSB 133 to 166)
Seems fair to me if you have a 2700+ and a XT
You <b>can</b> remove DirectX 9.0c and
install 9.0b but it's abit of a risky procedure
because DirectX is considered a core component
of the Windows Operating System.
Look for a program called something like
"DirectX Eradicator" (Guru3d.com might have it,
if not check Driverheaven.com) make sure to
study the readme very carefully.
Good luck.
Oh and to stay on-topic and not hijack CWAG's
topic, Halo runs fine for me on Multi-Player
(I have similar system requirements to you.)
but the single player barely runs at all.
(I have to switch off dust/particles etc and run in 800*600.)
Man, I must be getting old. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I have a 250 W power supply on my computer with a 9600xt, and it runs fine playing doom3.

He meens a game that was released in <b>2001</b> for the <b>Xbox</b>, and hes wondering why it doesent run well on his pc.
To put it simply, the halo conversion to the pc sucks. My freinds top-o the line (and i mean the whole freaking system is like powerfull enough to run NASA's comps) gets horrible fps in halo.
Well, horrible for him.
Except for mine.
HA HAAA!!!!! *swings away*
Yay. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I tried Halo on a borrowed 4600 and it ran silk and looked brilliant. I get my 9600 Pro and it looks pretty much the same but the performance is horrible.
Must just be that game.
