<div class="IPBDescription">Help.</div> OK, so in case you guys did not get my other post, I signed up for HLgaming hosting a little bit ago. Everything works great, but I have a question. My hosting comes PHP/CGI/MySQL ready and I downloaded PHPBB but I cant seem to get it working. Before you tell me to RTFM, I already did. In the installation guide it tells me to change permissions on install.php to 666, then go to <a href='http://chaosmod.hlgaming.com/forums/install/install.php' target='_blank'>http://yoursite.com/forums/install/install.php</a> and follow the further instructions. However, when I try to visit that page, I get a 403 error. Any help would be nice.

PS: I looked up the 403 error and it means denied access.

Im with hlgaming.com you need to set mysql php rights. Use the URLs they provided you with when you first got your account and a MYSQL guide. Also contacting the guys in #hlgaming.com on GSurge is a good idea.

I tried the link they gave me in the email (mysql.hlgaming.com) and my browser says that address cannot be found. What do I do?

well they may not have a webserver on the address if its just a mysql server...

But not even being able to get to the page is your problem, has nothing to do w/ sql.

I'd suggest chmodding to 776, and make sure the owner is set to apache (if apache is the web server, which I assume it is)

Just to be obvious, you aren't actually going to <a href='http://yoursite.com' target='_blank'>http://yoursite.com</a> right? You're going to whatever site you have?

If all else fails, try <a href='http://www.invisionboard.com/' target='_blank'>Invision Power Board</a> instead, its better anyway. :P
