Well I was thinking about making a case mod just today, but I don't know where to start. My problem is not tools, becasue I'm pretty sure I have all of the necessary stuff.
Here are tools that I have:

Lots of screwdrivers.

Exacto kife, hobby knife.

Modeling glue, wood glue, regular Elmers glue.

Saws.

Drill with many-sized bits.

A crapload of screws.

Needlenose pliers, wrenches, etc.

I'm not sure what else I would need but I think I should have it.
Since I know that I have tools, my next dillema is a case. I'm going to be experimenting with my old Dell case so I don't screw up a brand-new case. When I do go to get a new case, I'm probably going to get the Just 4 PC Beige Mid-Tower Case becasue I like the styling but yet it is plain enough that I can easily modify it.
All of that being said, I need some ideas of where to start.
Here is the Dell case I plan on practicing on:

If anyone can help give me some ideas, I would be eternally gratefull.
/edit: The link the beige case I want to mod is http://images.tigerdirect.com/SKUimages/medium/B452-1018.jpg

I think the best cases are the ones that aren't symmetrical. Of course some themes demand symmetry, but others, if you are creative enough can make very good case designs.
There was a thread here before regarding creating an "NS" style computer case. I'll search for it.
Great place for case inspirations.
