Plz Help..having Problems With Lan Game

<div class="IPBDescription">Need instructions on how to start...what</div> ..Being a long time fan and vet of NS,,i decided to show my friend that wertent able to reach internet this awesome game...I copied 4.0 and burned it to an Cd...then took it to My Lan gaming Store..from there i copied(installed) it to the Half- Life Directory...came up fine....did it to another comp too...came up fine..Until one wee little problem... I cant make a Lan game...for some reason...it wont come up unless i put into a "dedicated server icon"..and even then no one can join the Server..Other comps see it just fine but when i clock join..the screen goes dark like as if its connecting then just dissapers right to the Main Windows onscreen...i tried diffeerent comps but to no avail...can someone explain why its doing this..or morew importantly how to start a Lan game to all comps without problems..thnx for all input
