4300 points in 3Dmark03

NVIDIA WILL REVEAL the 6600GT and 6600 cards on the seventh of September as we already mentioned but this time we can give you a good idea how will 6600 standard perform.

This 300MHz/500 MHz clocked card will provide 4300 points in 3Dmark03. It ends up almost 50 per cent slower than its big brother due to a 200MHz lower GPU clock and 500MHz slower memory compared with the flagship 500/1000 MHz Geforce 6600GT.

In Doom 3, this card will score 45 FPS and both times we are talking about 1024x768 resolution and no AA and AF used.

Nvidia might have a problem with this product if it decides to stick with this clock speed as the final choice as ATI X700 standard is clocked at 400/600 MHz and scores 6000 in 3Dmark03.

Both cards will be priced $149 so I don’t see how Nvidia 6600 card might be a good affordable solution with such a performance lead by ATI X700. µ

Meeeh, one more reason to go buy a Radeon 9800 Pro for me...
