<div class="IPBDescription">Ideas needed</div> Hey all. I'm going to mod my pc and i want to make it ns themed. If someone has any good ideas and can tell me and/or show me some pictures i would appreciate it. It can be anything thats possible to create, maybe a miniature hive inside the pc? Some infestation?

Actually, that hive inside the box is a damn good one. Have the wires and stuff go through the hive, the infestation crawl on the parts etc. You'll just need a big window on the side so you can see it.

Yeah i like it alot too, the problem is im not good at making such props...
Other thing, what should i create the hive from? and the infestation?

We had a thread with the same question it's alot of ideas there go search at modding or sumthing (no idea wich section tho). My idea was spray f4! under the power button.

take an aerograph (spelled right?) and paint something on the sides..
like a lurkin' skulk or a marine with his fancy shiny lmg and them blue goggles and the laserbeam from his eyebrow.

or maybe the reddish/orangeish alien eye.


or take some substance you can cut with a knife, but its still strong, so it can keepi your oc inside inside it. dunno but maybe check if it burns when gets warmth (for example my pc goes pretty hot sometimes, maybe yours too)
and carve something NS styled out of it (maybe some buliding, rine buildings are easier to do i think) and put the pc parts in it.
and then colour it right.
and you got like maybe a commchair computar in your room.




(just an idea, don't make it as big as a commchair would be in real life:P)

i've got plans and color spraypain #'s (krylon) for making the Prototype lab... if you want them i'll dig them out... they should work for just about any marine structure (the colrs that is)

Woot, another person doing an NS themed case. A hive would be really cool, and you could do some minor distressing to the hard drive mounts (cut and bend all the excess metal into a distorted shape away from the hive) Add some random infestation-look alike split loot tubing (greens, browns, yellows over a black maybe?) and have that holding back the cables in a odd "Organic-y" fashion.

I got one crazy idea, cut the "wall" between the 2 3.5" holder in the front together as one, but some plexi glass there and behind it, put the secret or easteregg in ns_ayumi in there... Going back and forth exactly as they do in the map? Maybe turn em on and off with some buttons?

If it's NS Themed, put supports on the sides, because that thing wont be able to balance. Ho ho ho. If you could mold stuff, like that HL2 case, you could put some infestation on.

if you use that spray insulation foam in the bottom, and then paint it, it should mimic infestation pretty well

Can you show me the "spray insulation foam" ? Like a tube of it or something and how it looks like when used?

Ok, The stuff im talking about, when dried, looks like this <a href='http://www.g-news.ch/articles/nhp200nc/' target='_blank'>Foamy</a> It looks like a lot, but this stuff can be cut with a box cutter, holds form well, and, thanks to the spray can applicator, it's scale-able

Split Loom tubing is great for wire work, it would be great for this. I myself am going to be making the gestation model into a shell for a shuttle system sooner or later.

Its been a while since I've posted here but I have a few ideas. I would plan on putting a window in, first off. That way you can mod the stuff on the inside and people can see it. If you are going to do a window in that case, how about attempting to make the NS eye translucent? That way you could put it on it as a window applique. I also have a very daring thought...unprecedented. My idea is this: get quick-drying clay and some brown/orange/yello/red etc. spraypaint. Spraypaint the inside metal stuff to make it look more appealing. Then take the clay and mold infectious stuff like veins and mold and whatnot with the clay. Now here comes the daring part. Take all of you wires and hide them within the clay. It would fit right in with the veins/moss and would hide the cables. This might be harder than it seems, but I think that it would be pretty damn cool. To protect the power pin connectors, you could always use some saran wrap to cover and protect them.
