Hl maps in create game menu...

Hi... first post here, anyways when i go to create a game, all i see is the HL maps in the list, can someone help me?


and another thing, when i try to join games alot of times it says i dont have the mod installed lol.

yea, i have the same problem:you cannot connect to a server running custom game ns untill you install the custom game

hi -

this is somewhat related to the 'not able to make lan game,' and the problem is with your shortcut (i assume you are running from the desktop shortcut).  i'm not sure about the exact cause, but it acts like HL doesn't fully recognize the mod when you start it off the desktop icon, due to some settings there.

anyway, THE FIX:
- go to the shortcut properties and put your HL directory in the "Start In:" block, i.e. E:\games\Half-Life or D:\SIERRA\Half-Life

- or use the start menu shortcut (which has the above fix already)

if neither of these work, then sorry.  they worked for me.

I don't put separate shorcuts for each mod but I run my mods from the custom game lists (works fine). Is there something wrong with their way of starting the mod?
