Beta 5 Lags Me Terribly

I'm having trouble with the new beta version that was released. When i play, every 2 seconds or so my Fps drops from around 50 to about 4 or 5. It basically makes the game unplayable.
This only happened after beta 5 was installed. I never had any problems before, so its not something like my fps_max setting.
please help me out.
