<div class="IPBDescription">stay a while, and listen...</div> i found something very peculiar while replaying a rather dated game (star control 2) and i found something most unusual. apparantly one of the aliens you meet sounds EXACTLY like the G-man from Half-life. this is indeed odd, and not very beleivable right? well, i've taken the liberty of setting up some sound files for you nice folks to listen to.

    I've tried Windows Media Player, Real Player, Quick Time, and even WinAmp.

    AND I STILL CAN'T PLAY THEM!

Although it doesn't list him as the G-Man in HL1 (only HL2), i remember reading somewhere that Valve used all the original voice actors for their original roles, to keep a sense of continuity. So that's the best i can do.

    the files are in .ogg format for... some reason... but winamp and media player played them fine for me. hmm, maybe someone out there want's to convert them to .wav? or something?

    That's weird, but he's obviously voiced G-Man in the first, stupid IMDB. Anyway, guess it isn't the same voice actor as Star Control 2.

    stickman: yeah, I did the same thing, searched IMDB for him... and found him, and then googled for his name and "star control" and nothing popped up... can't find the voice actors for SC2 anywhere for that matter, someone finish the game and read the credits. :>

    huh, according to the authors list (voice actors) a guy named "Larry Zee" did the voice of... 4 of the alien races including the melnorm (g-man).

    huh, the other races sound nothing like him. one of them sounds like its talking through a condom.

    **UPDATE** i've updated my site/link/thing with 10 new audio files of the other 3 alien races that 'Larry Zee' apparantly voices. they really don't sound anything alike... almost, but that's probobly due to the voice-distortion or re-mixing or whatever its called.

    Yeah, it shows him as doing a <b>voice</b> for Half Life, but doesn't list him as the G-Man, as it does in Half Life 2.
