<div class="IPBDescription">How?</div> Hi. I wondered how you can be a admin? Each cheater irritates me and i dont know how to report, so is there a way that i could be a admin?

Important: I have played for a long time, but i dont know so much about admins and reports.

There is no master admin, each server has its own admins selected by the people who pay for the servers. You can't become one unless you know the server owners. Judging by your first post you'd probably ban any random person without justification though.

I.E another admin that knows you well and believes that you would make a good admin. Then again there are those that will just kick everyone that he suspects without proof causing problems for the server :/

Being an admin isn't a simple job, it's actually rather difficult and time consuming. Actually, it's being a good admin that is. Bad admins just abuse their powers, ban/kicking people who own them on the basis of, 'Omg they killed me 3 times in a row, they h4x.'

Good admins rarely ban people for cheating because they know that there are a lot more really good players out there than cheaters that are very careful with what they do. There are blatant ones which are easy to spot but they rarely show their faces. Good admins takes time to listen to the players on the servers, usually the regulars, spend a good time spectating and making demos, then reviewing the demos repeatedly to see if there really is aimbot, wallhack, what have you.

So I suggest not taking the position lightly at all unless you want to be one of the admins people dislike and have no respect for.

Or you could be entirely wrong and his english might not be as good. (i know from my self i many times just write a short sentence because i don't know how to explain my self)

Crisano does have it on the money. Being a good admin takes alot of work, but it pays off when you have good ties with your community, and a great server to play on.

unless you have to admin with ness, then it's a non-spam fest of him asking you for hotpockets. or payment in hotpockets, or anything related to hotpocket consumption or hotpocketry.

You havn't played for a long time. If you had then you'd understand there arn't many cheaters. Administration is a pain and is only worth doing for a short period of time in free online games alike Half-life.

Bleh, I wouldn't want to be a server admin if I could, always having to give up your time to deal with whiny little liars and cheats. I would be to concerned about being fair to everyone all the time and screw my self over with concern for the innocent. Meh, if I were an admin, anyone who I caugt lying to me would be banned for the maximum ammount of time, just on priciple and due to the fact that they are trying to make my job harder for me, other than that I'm a pretty understanding guy.

being a server admin does have it's perks, becuase you can finally do something about llamas and the like

Being and admin, while nice when you have all regulars on the server, is not fun. It is a job. At my server (TV3) I spend more time dealing with complaints, spectating "cheaters" and "script abusers" (99% of the time they are just good, I have only caught 1 aimbot and 2 exploiters in the past year). Most of my time is spent forcing 12 year olds to keep their mouth clean and to stop ture spawn camping (aka, making no attempt to kill a hive or ip for over 2 mins). It becomes a job after awhile, I start to dread going into my own server because I know I will have to deal with people who can not follow rules and good sportsman conduct. Add in the fact that my community runs 12+ HL servers, all of which I help admin, it can be stressful and difficult to stay level headed and fair. Admin is definately not for the weak, or for those who are new to NS. You have to know exactly what you are looking for, and then be ready to prove it should the complain, because a mistake can ruin the server reputation

Exactly. Kids with their wild ideas are the reason for so many complaints. They are competely clueless yet because of their youth are the most vocal of all. And then one wonders why the NS devs are trying to change ns for them.

Why is this topic still going?... Why do I have to repeat my self?...

Good admins are there to serve the players and ensure the fun. If you don't like serving your customers then don't admin.

There are too many self-centered pre-puberty white looser male arses on an ego trip at the helm of servers these days. It's annoying as hell.

If you can't be fair, if you can't take the heat, if you don't like serving your "customers"... THEN DON'T BE ADMIN

It's much more like a job duty than a source of enterainment from power. I take my administrations very seriously.
