Cant Play Ns?

<div class="IPBDescription">Wants me to register with a Key</div> I just got NS. I installed it as i would any other HL mod for steam only it shows up in the Third Party Games list. I cant double click to run it, when i do it brings up the "Games Browser menu" What do i do. I REALY want to play this mod. My friends are playing and say they didnt have this problem and they dont knwo what i should do other then post on here. Any help would be GREAT!.. Thanks

reinstall, boot hl before installing ns, when installing make sure steam is off.

Ok i did that and it acts the same way. Does it matter if i only have CS and no HL? i have retail CZ which came with CZ and CS mods. I hope that dosnt matter cause i cant find HL anywhere. I have been looking for a long time for the Retail HL.

You can always purchase other Hl packs i.e. Blue Shift, HL pack that comes with opposing forces ,etc.

You can always buy it from the net also.

at play.com and search for HL

Steam HL mods require a HL CD key.
If you can't find a copy, you have not tried hard enough.

I'm having a similar problem; although, I had both HL and Steam installed. When I clicked steam. I was unable to open even the Halflife as it told me to do so steam will recgonize HL.

I used to play NS back in the day and love the game and wanted to come back. I tried Steam when NS was first starting with it and was a Nightmare. I'm feeling nothing has changed. I'm not sure if you've seen this prob before or not.

Not quite sure whether I get your problem here, Rollin, but from what I gather you have a problem with opening any kind of HL on Steam. I'm afraid we can't really help you there. It's better to check Steampowered.com's Tech Support forum.
