Then maybe you ought to download Starsiege: Tribes (It's free from Fileplanet, you don't even need a CD key) and play it, since it just happens to be <b>the best game ever conceived and made by mankind.</b>

Very true, it was a great game. I played Tribes: Vengence, and Tribes 2, and there's just something....that I don't like about it. Tribes is great though.

Pah! Spoken like people too young to have ever been involved in the Quake DM scene.

Doom is infact correct, Quake DM > *. Nothing, and i mean _nothing_ is as fun as 16 player DM on DM4, it's goddamn insane. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I was involved in the Quake DM scene, and it couldn't touch Doom 2 LANs. The only thing Quake had over Doom 2 was online multiplayer.

Doom 1 has best multiplayer (if you remove the bfg), mostly cause the ssg owns everything and its just a battle for the ssg/sgammo the whole time <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Skulltag (doom port) rail arena is uber fun. If you want to try doom1 or 2 online get <a href='http://www.doomworld.com/skulltag' target='_blank'>skulltag</a> and blast away, since it has the best netcode for doom atm <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I don't think Doom had a Super Shotgun :X

Which is why he is saying Doom 1 is better, because it doesn't have the SSG.

I disagree however, because I love the SSG, and if you can catch an SSGer at range, he's screwed.

Which doesn't really matter if it's ranged anyways, because in DOOM you run at the speed of light, so this 'range' needs to be from one side of the map to the other.
Even then the doom guy will reach you in 3 seconds q:
