Ok, been through 2 sound cards and 2 mics now, and my mic is still quiet as heck. Yes, I have maxed it out in sound controls, turned on boost and everything in windows that you can do. Right now I have to talk really loud which I can't do at night time when playing online. Is there any on the fly mic volume booster program out there?     I think you should get a new sound card driver? Mine has a +20dB boost for the mic... quite useful. Mic becomes ultra-sensitive.

    Mine has the +20db on, maxed out microphone, Im running a Creative 5.1 Live card. Hmph :/

    Is it a professional recording-grade microphone? Some mics don't put out anywhere near enough signal for a computer. I've just got a crappy pair of wearable ones that I wear around my neck over th top of my good headphones.
