Orignal Ns Textures In High-res

(anyone ever done it?)
In a possible project, I was thinking about re-doing all the necessary NS original textures (for the mesh used in the shots) in high resolution. Doing this would take time. I can do it but don't know if I will have enough time.

So, instead, I am curious to find out if anyone has ever done the original NS textures in hi-res ?

Do a search for "Dillinger"... and you'll find some. I'm to lazy for it right now. And... you'll need to recompile all models cause the texture size is now 512x512 and not 256x256 any more...

Cory Strider (aka SquealLikeAPig), who did all the NS artwork/textures, did the textures at the current res. There are no hi-res textures other than custom created ones. So either find someone to make em for you, or attempt it yourself

Thx but it is not for gaming. Its for rendering only.

Are you sure you got the name right ?

I did a member search on Dillinger and then checked out all the posts he did in NS and there are only 8 of them ! So with so few posts, I don't think it's him. Unless you meant outside of the NS official forum ?

Search in GOOGLE didn't produced anything meaningfull either.

I guess I'll have to do them myself then.

Went on that Dillinjer link. Seams to be only about one specific mode or 2. Not all NS textures.

    Thx anyway.

I am thinking about doing both map textures and model skins in high-res. Not all of them. Just those that will be present in the shots I want to render with 3d max.

sory browqser, but i've been pent up too long to not say it.... and well, it's been comming for a long time, so don't be offended.

why are you not using gmax to do it?

ok, now that've got that done with... there does not exist such a thing... good luck on requesting them.

Using GMAX in my case would be only to modify individual models or maps to high-poly them and then exporting them to 3d max for the renderings. Exporting from GMAX toward 3d max (other way too) is a bit of a pain but still possible.

I prefer doing all in 3d max so it less of a hassle.

Using GMAX would be an advantage when I'm on the road or at family's houses. I could use my laptop. But in about 1 month I don't have any garantee that I will keep my office laptop. My departement is being replaced with a contract in India so we all have to look for something else, therefore loosing my laptop most probably.

I knew this question would come up a few times. But I don't mind.
