...As stated in the pre-load 2 thread, I download it so that when I buy the HL2 box, I don't have to put the CD in the drive and have it go: weeeeeeeeeeeeooooooooqq*snap*, since my drive sucks so much.
The first two seemed to be about the same size though, and this one was quite a bit smaller. I think they're doing it based on size, so I think they could just squeeze any sprites or code or leftovers into only 1 or 2 more preloads if they're the size of the first one.
...Over here at the excitement that is my college, I get a 100kilobytes/s download from speed (...thanks 'T1' connection that we're forced to buy if we want internet in the dorms, which is basically the equivalent of nicely working dial up with its 400+ pings and slow download speeds).
