Well, i've tried and i've tried and i really can't get to grips with skinmeshing in 3ds, so, well, i've killed this gun.
It's my first ever 3ds weapon model and i'm pretty pleased with it. It weighs in at ~1400 polys, i only really started it to get some practice modelling.
Well, if anyone wants the files and wants to skinmesh, skin, animate and release, by all means, pm me, but as far as my work goes on it, i can't be bothered to do any more really.
As i said, it's loosely based on the S&W Sigma 40p. I couldn't find many good reference pictures at all so i had to wing a lot of it, but i don't much care, i'm still pretty pleased with it.
EDIT: <img src='http://world.guns.ru/handguns/sigma40p.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
This was the only reference i had to go on, heh. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Comments
On that note of skinmeshing, I'm gonna ask my teach for Intro to 3D Animation today if when we get to texturing, we're gonna just slap a texture on a whole object, or actually UV map it out. Seems that skinmeshers could be used alot right now here, what with all these great models and not much/intrested skinmeshers...

There were apparently lawsuits from glock reguarding patent infringements with the Sigma (The actual sigma has an internal hammer like a glock too, but due to lack of any reference for the rear, i dropped that in favour of a normal hammer) so any similarity to a glock is probably right.
It's sexier than a glock though. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Only a quick render. I didn't spend a lot of time on the back, it's functional really.
