Ping Is Wierd...

Ok, so I load up steam, join a game that I'm supposed to have good ping in. Lets say I join one where my ping is supposed to be 90 according to steam. When I get in there my ping is actually about 200-400. I lag alot and it doesn't seem to make any sense, any ideas?

I'm on DSL and I've got a good computer so lag isn't my side.

Check your connection speed in steam's internet options.

Make sure your rate is set to 10000 or above. Go to the console and type rate to see what its set to. To change it if it set to something really low, just type rate 10000
