Think Pad And Wireless Lan
<div class="IPBDescription">Driving me crazy</div> So my mom got a new laptop and we have had very little luck getting it to work regularly with the wireless LAN.
The system has now has a total factory reset, and I can get it to work with ONE exeption:
I have to manualy tell windows to "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings" every time te computer is put to sleep. This is a check box under the wireless networks tab for her LAN connection.
The model # is T42
Running XP SP1
If any one has any idea, please help me out.
Thanks

I may be able to help, but can you post a few more details? Post your router brand/model number and wireless card brand/model number. I have a few suggestions that may help, providing that you have a Linksys router. Don't worry, I may be able to still help with other routers.
again, the computer is:
An IBM ThinkPad <a href='http://www-132.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?categoryId=2072541&storeId=1&catalogId=-840&langId=-1&dualCurrId=73' target='_blank'>T42</a>
The Wireless Stuff is:
<!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->Communications
Fax/modem description 56K V.92 designed modem

Wireless type LAN
Wireless standard[10] Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG
Wireless speed 11b:11Mbps, 11g:54Mbps

As I said, I doubt it is a hardware problem, it is simply that when ever the computer is put into sleep mode or turned off it will uncheck the box for having windows handel the wireless connection. I think it then tries to use a different program (even tohugh I had shut said program off) that I am unfamilar with.
And yes, it is a Linksys router, but that has nothing to do with it.
I also had this working flawlessly before, thus I doubt hardware problem (it started having problems after the IT department did something, and we can't get em to own up to that)
