<div class="IPBDescription">Driving me crazy</div> So my mom got a new laptop and we have had very little luck getting it to work regularly with the wireless LAN.

The system has now has a total factory reset, and I can get it to work with ONE exeption:

I have to manualy tell windows to "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings" every time te computer is put to sleep. This is a check box under the wireless networks tab for her LAN connection.

The model # is T42
Running XP SP1

If any one has any idea, please help me out.
Thanks

    Integrate wireless I take? If it is, I would suggest sending it back to IBM and have them replace your integrated wireless card with a new one. Who knows, it may be defective.

    I may be able to help, but can you post a few more details? Post your router brand/model number and wireless card brand/model number. I have a few suggestions that may help, providing that you have a Linksys router. Don't worry, I may be able to still help with other routers.

    It has nothing to do with the router, it only has to do with the computer it self, and it SEEMs like a spftware issue rather then a hardware one (as it is a setting in Windows that keeps turning itself off)

    again, the computer is:

    An IBM ThinkPad <a href='http://www-132.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?categoryId=2072541&storeId=1&catalogId=-840&langId=-1&dualCurrId=73' target='_blank'>T42</a>

    The Wireless Stuff is:
    <!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->Communications
    Fax/modem description  56K V.92 designed modem
    Fax/modem speed[3]  56Kbps data/14.4Kbps fax
    Infrared port  Yes
    Infrared port speed  4Mbps
    Wireless type  LAN
    Wireless standard[10]  Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG
    Wireless speed  11b:11Mbps, 11g:54Mbps
    Ethernet description  Integrated Intel PRO/1000 Gigabit Ethernet
    Ethernet interface type  Gigabit Ethernet- Integrated
    Ethernet on motherboard  Yes<!--c2--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    As I said, I doubt it is a hardware problem, it is simply that when ever the computer is put into sleep mode or turned off it will uncheck the box for having windows handel the wireless connection. I think it then tries to use a different program (even tohugh I had shut said program off) that I am unfamilar with.

    And yes, it is a Linksys router, but that has nothing to do with it.

    I also had this working flawlessly before, thus I doubt hardware problem (it started having problems after the IT department did something, and we can't get em to own up to that)
