<div class="IPBDescription">Anyone know of any good ones?</div> Hey guys n gals of the NS community, Im looking for some serious and meaningful type of quotes from video games for a small project. They can be from either Console or PC games.

They can be from character cut scenes, dialogue, intros, or maybe even from background books like the stories you can read via books on the selves in Morrowind etc.

A good example of one would be this one from Soul Skorpion's forum sig.

"When due process fails us we really do live in a world of terror." - JC Denton, Deus Ex

have at it

remember to also sate the game name and the character who said it if at all possbile
Thanks!

"It's time to kick **** and chew bubble gum... and I'm all outta gum." Duke

Thats all I can think of... I know there were some other quotes from his Nintedno 64 game where he travels through time....

He said 'meaningful' not 'cool and pointless'. He's looking for some complicated meanings in the quotes, not just banter and taunts. That and Sid, your quotes aren't Duke quotes, but painfully 'parodied' from other movies and suchnot.

If you're looking for meaningful quotes though, play Deus Ex. The entire game is some Xen ****...

All you need to do is make a dartboard out of pages from the scripts to Deus Ex 1 or Planescape: Torment. As much as I'm an equally big fan of other highly-acclaimed RPG's such as the Fallout series and KOTOR, DX1 and PS:T are the only games I'm aware of that try to reach a level of literary worth expected in classic print media.

It gives away a very crucial part of one of the characters, but if you seriously don't care, I suggest reading the Unbroken Circle of Zerthimon, Parts 1 - 3.

Or, if you're looking for some humour, check out Kimasxi Addertongue.

Honestly, play the game. This script is only <b>one</b> possible path of many that is offered in the game.

Seconded. The Circle is one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, works of literature ever written for a video game. I cheated just so I could get the entire story =O.

Planescape torment had brilliant dialogue and writing. Its text along could've filled several volumes, not to mention the wonderful gameplay.
