Blue Screen Of Xp?
<div class="IPBDescription">ahh...</div> Every 30 mins or so i get a blue screen of death i guess.
It says that windows encountered an error and its going to restart to prevent damage. Then it says if a driver is listed in the error message then reinstall that driver.
All i see in the error message is: STOP and some numbers at the end like 000033x300128xz
Then it does a system memory dump.
Anyone know how to fix/prevent this?
edit: everytime it does this, its a different error message; either .sys files or random 000000x0000 names. Its rarely a .sys file

Seriously, could be a physical memory error (AKA, your RAM is fried) You can try reinstalling XP, but if it fails, its probably hardware.
Ima format this one so hopefully the problems will get fixed
ill try that site ruby, thanks ill post an update
EDIT: Actually im pretty sure... 99.9% sure that you DO have the blaster worm, exact same thing happend when I got it.
Some of the times windows had to be reinstalled or it wouldnt start properly..
Just hope it's not this problem. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Spinrite fixed the disk later though.. so it wasn't a total crash..
Speaking of USB 2.0 how hard is it to change 1.1 to 2.0? How expensice, and what do I need?
Update/roll back ALL your drivers till it works
2) A fresh install will probably fix it.
3) Blaster restarts your computer, it dosn't BSoD it (and it isn't a nonshown BSoD, it just restarts it, and it tells you before hand)
4) USB 1.1 can't be 'converted' into 2.0. However all you need to do is buy your self a USB card (As it is hard to find 1.1 ones now, you can pick one up at any local hardware store for under $30)
Oh, and to add in this fun one:
Last night after our manager had left and when my felow Sales Assosiate (aka, we sell stuff at RadioShack) was trying to cash out one of our POS (point of sale, though the other works atm) decides to give us a BSoD. We restart. BSoD as soon as windows trys to load <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Finaly called tech help and as it happened we has an install disk that compleatly reformats the comp, ghosts the drive back on, and sets everytihng back up automagicly <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

If you don't have USB 2.0 already, it's unlikely that it will be worth the effort.
You'd need to install a card with 2-4 USB slots. Plus, your devices have to support it on the other end of the cable, too.
