Oh yeah, its still in like...30 (probably more like 50) pieces or so. I've got to figure out clever, easy to work with groups to put them in. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I dont know what else to put into the model, and I should probably compile it into a .mdl and have my buddy test its scale in a map...too.
As for intakes, I could try those...but I can't promise anything amazing to come out of it. The ship is supposed to look rather clunky and huge, too...just to have that rugged "gonna rape you" feel.
lol the im gonna rape you feel? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
oh oh it needs speed holes (use the pickax)
that'd be cool to have in marine start, you start on the ship and then build just outside very nice
That was the general idea for the map, too. Marines start outdoors in a jungle-like setting, and then move into a large compound where the hives are located. Of course the outdoors section of the map would be just big enough for the dropship model and a decent marine base.
People, lets not forget that the TSA do a lot of their work in outer space, and it's the future. Thus there isnt much need for uber-streamlined speedy looking gear. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
rotate the intake where its in the back. (the holes)
then in the middle of each big hole, divide it with some sleek curve. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
The engine pods in the back need to be bigger. If this is gonna fly like the armored marine-carrying monster you're suggesting, it should have the rugged, oversized engines to go along with it.
Besides, a dropship needs to have some way to reach escape velocity, right?
I'd make the intakes more like flat vent holes (so it also could be just skinned onto the model)
but maybe that's just personal preference <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Intake style I was playing with:
<img src='http://img83.exs.cx/img83/9594/NewFront.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
then in the middle of each big hole, divide it with some sleek curve. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
like so
cut the bottom half of those intakes off, and then take the top half and stick it onto the body

Don't be shy.
*editxorx* I scaled up the rear and vtol engines, I also made the miniguns point slightly downward.
