<div class="IPBDescription">tired of that default fire "blob?"</div> ...got this from Schlex a while back, so of course its uncredited. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
anyway, if you know what game this was pulled from, i'd be interested to know. i'd like to get the explosions from that first <i>Medal of Honor</i> - when you blow up the submarine - but i'll probably just try to enlarge this one sometime down the line so that the HL engine doesn't have to distort it so much to get it up?to?scale.

:o also thought that this was rendered by the particle system. curious as to which .spr this is. it looks ok, not high enough of a resolution though :< love the shape of it too.

its the zerogxplod.spr or something like that. when they use default sprites, they aren't in the sprites folder (i.e. that shockwave.spr). they're in the .pak (or whatever steam calls them now) file. the resolution of this one in particular is no higher than the default explosion, but i've been playing things on the HL engine for so long that i can't stand to see that default explosion any longer.

<i>sprview</i> to view and export sprites to .bmp, <i>sprwiz</i> to compile the .bmps into a .spr

128x128 pixels is a tad too big. Perhaps you could consider making it smaller, like 64x64.

The sprite will be multiplied in size, regardless of how big it is, so the only way to avoid the distortion is to start with a higher quality image.
