<div class="IPBDescription">Installation Help</div> So I finally got a PCI slot type USB 2.0 for my PC.
I needed one, since I got this brand new Creative Xtra, but it kept complaining about how slow my USB is, so I got the new one.
Ok so what I did was remove the old one, put the new one in, and switch on the pc.
I plug the Zen in. *blam in your face* "A high speed device has been plugged into a non-high speed USB port"
"OK" I think, and suspect it's the drivers. I uninstall the USBs from my computers hardware manager, and it automatically tries again. and... *BLAM* yet again the little bubble of doom pops up.
Whats the problem here?

Yea, it comes with auto update, but apparently it dosent work.
Not long ago, I went and bought a USB 2.0 card reader, and had the same problem. I can't even remember where I eventually found the solution, since I spent quite some time searching for answers with google, and in MS's knowledgebase.
Anyway. I think it all came down to simply removing <i>all</i> USB root hubs from the device manager. Then, some steamy rebooting action and you're set. Or should be at least...
edit:
Gawd how did I miss that you already tried it. Must. Get. Sleep. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Dunno what to suggest really, does your motherboard support USB 2.0?
Stupid question probably but I thought I would ask <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
My computer detects it, but still only functions at 1.1 levels.
Is it actually possible my mobo doesent support usb 2.0?
I've got an A7V133 from asus, and I have no idea about motherboards, so could someone tell me what to do?
I'll go dig it up.....
Ah..
Apparently, you need to manually enable it in XP.

Is it possible for a motherboard to not support 2.0 altogether?
*edit* yes and I put the screen there to show you my USBs werent in "Other Devices", as if that changes anything.
So I tried forcing it to install the drivers but it still only functions at slow speeds!
Help please! <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
