You need:
JPs
GLs
Mines
First you give all of it to 1 or more players (hopefully more) then you send them to the place shown at the picture. Them you lay the mines at (A) remember to cover the full vent. Get your marine with the gl to (B)
Next is the easy part, just grenade spam into the hive, skulks lerks and even fades will blow up. (and if they dont thats why you have a JP/SG there to to finish it)
If they run the other way around drop a CC there it will give you some time.
Eventuly drop it right after you got in there.

and its totally unnecessary... i mean your just dragging the game on longer...
If you had that many mines and JPs and GLs to begin with, you were probably already winning. Besides, if they had two hives, they could just bile it, and if they didn't have two hives, then why would you need such an elaborate attack to finish them off?!?
That attack is totally unnecessary, you could just GL spam from the corridor and still accomplish the same thing.

Eh I got the impression that it was just one gl and one sg on the first read, and I missed the cc thing entirely.

this could be an alternative to a heavy rush. all you need to do is mine up the front, gl spam in and have one guy guard the back or two, (HMG or GL) like he said. solid strategy.
(no cc blocking though, its still good thougH)
Ventblocking with CCs is illegal in CAL, and afaik the Euro and international leagues too. Considering it a valid strategy is just silly - and yes, theres a million great ways to be annoying if you consider ventblocking fair game. Especially on tanith (Invulnerable waste relocate + Beacon and PG to get out).

not to mention in league play the FF damage from the grenades would kill the mines

*Lamed hive.
*2 Hives and even with BB it's going to take a while to bring the cc down.
*Marines being overrun but manage to sneak out 2 marines.
There are tons of situations this strat can be useful. Not many people care about league play anyway as it's not as active as we would want it to be (duh balance?) so nothing wrong with the cc-blocking unless stated in server rules.
After the 4 mines blowup, and your reloading, then the situation becomes evened.
