For teh new comp!
I'm building a computer, and have had little difficulty in finding anything except a motherboard/chipset. Basically, I need a mobo for an Athlon 64 FX-53, X800 XT PE, 2GB RAM machine, and I want it to match the other parts in power, but I don't know jack about mobos.

It must have at least 2 USB 2.0 ports and at least 2 IEEE ports.

    MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum Socket 939

Very nice, but it is without PCI Express as every other AMD board.
Wait for a better one if you REALLY need that.

AMD mobos don't come with PCIe yet , I heard an eta when they are expected to hit the market, but I forgot it compleatly.

PCI Express is not a requirement for me. Games don't even use the whole AGP 8X pipeline yet, or so I'm told.

You'll have 1 IEEE port on the back and need another on the case (typically on the front).

You'll probably want to buy those two seperately. Check out Antec or Liang Li for some nice cases

The powersupply should come from "be quiet!" or "enermax" ftw.
Case from "lian li" or "casetek", i would prefer lian li.

Actually, I'm looking for something that will perform extremely well but I don't care at all about aesthetics. It could be a plain metal box and I'll love it if it does its job. Thanks for all the advice.

Yeah get a barebones case and get the powersupply separately. I put my vote for a enermax power supply as well. I have a 450 enermax and it rocks.
